Sweet Potato Couple!

Just when you thought the dust had settled on the goguma front…..
more news emerges to fuel the speculation of a revival ;) .
CN Blue member, and actor, Jung Yonghwa, had previously showed off his relationship with Girls’ Generation’s Seohyun, when  he starred with her in MBC’s “We Got Married” reality show.
Well, on the afternoon of the 23rd of June 2011, there was a production report conference at the Novotel Ambassador Gangnam in Seoul for the upcoming MBC Wednesday-Thursday drama, “You’ve Fallen For Me”.

During the conference itself, Yonghwa revealed an interesting tidbit: “I met Seohyun at the salon when I went to get my makeup done today. When I told her I was attending this press conference, she said that she would support me.”
The last time the Sweet Potato couple made the news, it was because of Yonghwa’s jealousy when TRAX’s Jungmo said that Seohyun was his ideal type.
As always, the saga never seems to end for our favourite celebrity K-Pop couple (not that we want it too, right ?).

Goguma couple Hwaiting !

'Gee' Ranked 9th in 'Songs that Koreans Like' Survey

KBS CoolFM Radio conducted a preference survey for their 46th Anniversary from June 7th till 9th to find out which songs Koreans most like to listen to. The survey involved more than 26,000 participants between the ages of 10-50 and of both genders. The internet voting also included music critics and a selection committee, resulting in a list of the top 89 songs of all time. As pictured above, the survey was divided into rank, title and artist.

Girls' Generation's "Gee" was ranked 9th among veteran artists like Lee Moonsae who placed 1st with "Kwanghwamun Love Song". Kim Hyunshik's "My Love By My Side" and Yoo Jaeha's "Because I Love You" were placed 2nd and 3rd respectively. Some idol artists who made the chart include Big Bang (Lies), IU (Good Day) and 2NE1 (I Don't Care) who were ranked at 35th, 44th and 50th respectively. Fellow labelmates Super Junior and BOA made the list as well.

Considering the diversity of the participants, Girls' Generation's high placing is indeed an achievement and has further proven the group's appeal among the masses.

SNSD Girls' Generation's High Standings for '1st Half of 2011 Oricon Ranking'

Well, believe it or not, half a year has already come and almost gone, in a blink of an eye. How have our favourite 9 fared so far in the music popularity stakes ?
Quite well, actually, as far as the Oricon charts are concerned :D .
Our favourite Korean girl group was placed 5th overall for the “1st Half of 2011′s Oricon Ranking” with a record total sales earnings of 2.6 billion yen.
The girls were placed after top Japanese artistes like AKB48 and EXILE and have, in fact, emerged as the top performing foreign artiste on the list.
Girls’ Generation started off the year with the release of their 3rd single “MR. TAXI/Run Devil Run”(release date: 27th April 2011).  For that single alone, they sold more than 150,000 copies.
They went on to make their mark with their self-titled 1st Japanese album, “Girls’ Generation”, garnering an album sales figure of more than 326,000 copies sold.

In addition, “MR. TAXI./Run Devil Run” was ranked 21st in the “Top 50 Singles” category, whilst their 1st Japanese album and Hoot were placed at 10th and 21st positions respectively for the “Top 50 Albums” category.
Their DVD “New Beginning of Girls’ Generation” was also ranked 15th for the “TOP DVDs” category.
In the same report, fellow Korean artists like KARA and Tohoshinki were also noted to have made significant milestones in this respect. The former was ranked 6th for the foreign artist category, while Tohoshinki was ranked at 15th.
What with breaking the 100,000 mark in total album sales after only 2 days, and with their extremely successful ongoing Japan Arena Tour, it certainly looks like there’ll be no stopping our favourite 9 angels at all for the remaining portion of 2011.

Past photos of SNSD were posted in an article by Korean media outlet, Startoday, titled, “SNSD Past Photos, Who are you?” which has caught the attention of netizens.
The June 20th episode of MBC’s “Good Day – Entertainment Plus” showcased the topic of “Stars in midst of Controversy.” Although most of the photos presented on the show were already revealed to the public, they featured a number of celebrities under fire over plastic surgery accusations.
The ones that caught the most attention from this program were the members of SNSD. The show mentioned that Sunny, Tiffany, and Sooyoung were looking quite homely in their past photos compared to their present flashy appearances.
Netizens that were able to catch the aired episode were most intrigued by the dramatic changes to Sunny’s nose and eyes, along with the chubbier Tiffany of the past.
“Entertainment Plus” stated on the show that, “They are always circled by plastic surgery controversies because they seem to change in appearance every time a photo from the past is revealed“.

Personally I don't think they went under the knife when I saw their present appearance in an airport to Korea, and they were not wearing any make up! They looked exactly the same! Take a look!

And I will show you more evidence

Tiffany and SooYoung impresses netizens with their beautiful Selcas + Other Pics from SMTown facebook!

On June 16, a series of SNSD’s Sooyoung’s selcas were posted by staff on SM Entertainment’s official Facebook page with the caption, “SOOYOUNG, taking time off to relax in her room~ But she didn’t forget about fans~! SOOYOUNG took these pictures by herself for the fans and sent it to us~! Her beautiful mind is one reason why we love her~! Thank you, SOOYOUNG~!!!
In the photos she shows off a variety of expressions ranging from chic to bubbly. The recent selcas have headlined for her radiant smile and other features reminding netizens of her goddess-like beauty.
Comments on the photos included, “Oh wow, she looks so pretty,” “She really looks like a goddess,” and “Breath-taking beauty.”

SNSD’s Tiffany created buzz amongst netizens with her beautiful sel-cas.
On June 17th, the SMTOWN Facebook page uploaded several sel-ca pictures of Tiffany. In the pictures, Tiffany is seen wearing a pair of big, dark-rimmed glasses while staring into the camera and making various expressions. In one picture, she had her eyes wide open as if she was surprised by something; in another picture, she looked up to the sky as if she was confused.
Netizens commented, “Looks like a smart, female college student”“Even dragonfly glasses become a fashion item if Tiffany wears them”, and “First Sooyoung and now Tiffany… who’s next?”

And some other pics where also posted on SMTown's official Facebook page! Take a look!

And the most popular SNSD member in Europe is...

HYOYEON!
The June 16th broadcast of SBS's "Midnight TV Entertainment" relayed news from on site at the Paris SMTOWN live concerts, which took place on the 10th and 11th.

Fans from various European countries gathered days before the Korean singers' concert. They not only lodged a couple days before the concerts, but they even said that they enjoyed waiting for the concerts in the rain.

It was particularly interesting to note that Girls' Generation has European ahjussi (middle-aged male) fans, too. Girls' Generation told of a memorable moment in Paris, saying, "We coincidentally ran into fans while we were looking around downtown. They enthusiastically danced the 'Gee' choreography in front of us and said that they were fans of us."

When Girls' Generation was asked who the most popular member was in Europe, they answered, "We think Hyoyeon is popular because she looks exotic." Hyoyeon said, "I'm not sure. Isn't it because I work hard?" and awkwardly said a greeting in French.

This sure would make Hyo Unnies fans happy, as we know that Korea and Japan lacks the love for Hyoyeon in music videos, especially Korea! But we know that there a hundred thousands of fans both in Korea and Japan and from other countries!
My self is a Hyo Fan! She is my second favorite after Fany!
